Holiday Caravan Sites (Wales) Bill
Response from: Terfyn Pella Caravan Park

Dear Ms Chapman,

I am a partner and site manager of Terfyn Pella Caravan Park in Rhyl, Denbighshire. This is a holiday park with pitches for 115 static caravans and was set up by my grandfather in 1947. I am now the third generation to run the business, assisted by my brother and mother, with one employee and several local contractors. As a small business we feel we add to the local economy by attracting tourists to the area. We always use local tradesmen to undertake work on the park and employ one permanent member of staff.

I write in response to the consultation on the Holiday Caravan Sites (Wales) Bill. My trade association, BH&HPA has responded on behalf of all members and I endorse their evidence - on this link - to you.

We are a small family business and would struggle to cope with more regulation. We follow the terms of our site licence faithfully, requesting home addresses from our holiday customers and locking the gates during our closure period. We do not allow post to the holidaymakers to ensure no one can live on site.

I ask please that you ensure my park business is not placed at competitive disadvantage, jeopardising the direct and indirect employment we sustain.

Yours sincerely,

Diane Inglis
